Default what the heck!

so I replace the oil pressure sending unit. within 25 miles of driving afterwards it went bad and my oil pressure is all over the place from o pounds to 130 pounds! what the heck are these parts this big of a piece!? is there a way to keep it from going bad? or at least prolong it.

Did you read the sticky "oil pressure sender relocate"? There seems to be a lot of failures of replacements. There are some other suggestions there about other senders and tightening torques.

yep..my first replacement lasted 90 days....if....

very touchy things they are

Two most important things to remember is 1) to not over-torque, in fact I'd set wrench under by 1 or 2 ft. lbs. and 2) clean electrical connection of all oil........connection should be clean and dry
