For the past few months my car has been feeling weak. It used to really bark the tires on the shift into 2nd gear (MN6), now it doesn't slip in the least. It also feels like the power really falls flat in the upper RPM's where it used to climb right to redline.
I pulled the plugs last month and found 4 of the 8 were missing the pucks. I replaced them with NGK TR's gapped at the factory setting. I hoped this was the problem, but it didn't improve.
I checked compression while the plugs were out and it looked ok. Gas mileage doesn't seem to have changed.
What do you think? Would a bent push rod have that effect?
Hey Steve; Wanna do some more Autotap runs one of these days?
Go the easy route and have a tech plug in to the PCM and get a picture of what's going on. Could be as simple as dirty wires on the maf or an O2 sensor.
