Remove stock ****:
Pop the 6spd plate off of the stock shifter **** with a small screw driver. Then remove the key under the plate by prying it out using 2 large screw drivers. After the key is out, unscrew your stock ****.
Installing the new ball:
Screw on the set nut, screw on the new Hurst ball, then use an 18MM wrench to tighten the set nut under the ball.
There is an adapter available that you mount on top of your a/t lever and then can use any manual **** with 9/16-18" threads.
Several of the site supporting vendors have them...
That particular one I got used from another member here.
I bought the same HURST **** thing in black from SUMMIT RACING. I believe JEG'S also has the HURST *****.
There is a vendor on EBAY (zr1chris or similar) that sells ***** in a slightly smaller size in black or white. Those are not actually from HURST, but most people don't seem to care. I think he machines a cue ball and inserts a threaded brass insert.
A regular cue ball could be tapped with 9/16-18 threads if you're careful and have a drill press, correct bit and tap.
If you're interested in a black HURST ****, I have one. The white portions started to get a little dirty/worn, so I removed the remainder of it. It could probably be refinished with a paint stick.
PM me if interested.

Our forum member zr1chris sells the black and white 2" shifter ***** ( they do not have the Hurst logo on the side), plus the original Hurst T handle and his own custom T handles.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG] zr1chris can be reached thru the forum search under zr1chris ( what else). Chris machines for the use of a 9/16-18 STEEL TAPECERT (, much stronger than Heli-Coil and much stronger than aluminum or brass inserts) and more compatible with the steel shifter arm. chris was selling for less than $30. I am a journeyman machinist and compliment chris on his work as I have bought both black and white shifter ***** and the original Hurst T from him.
The image of the Hurst T handle is not from any of my cars . I have modifed the Hurst T by drilling holes to eliminate the weight , milled down the Hurst logo and powder coated it black for a different look with my C6 Z06 shifters.
