Just recently had my cats gutted but am seeing a bit of smoke at idle.... ya know its so hard to tell if its blue or white would have to say more blue ... Without the cats should i bee seeing more smoke? Just had the valve stem seals done... + compression check all was well She picked up 7 HP across the RPM range and runs like a scalded brat... just got this smoke at Idle time... have not had anyone behind me when i punch it so not sure what happens then... Any ideas?
Probably unburnt fuel. If it was oil, you would be able to smell it. Is it still doing it after the car warms up and goes into open loop?
Actually it seems more prevalent after it warms up..... none noticed during first start up... Kinda after she warms up. Without Cats I do smell 1 heck of alot more of something.... Plan to go back to cats mine just got clogged all to heck after doing the decarb procedure.
If you see smoke when you pull off from a light and sometimes when you first start it up, I'm willing to bet that one or more of your valve stem seals wasn't put in correctly.

See i dont get it at start up ... or when i pull off ... only when she is sitting at idle... I have noticed fuel economy seems a bit more with this last tune.... maybe it is un burnt fuel???? Does that cause what appears to be smoke?
Its possible. You need to keep in mind that the original tuning/performance curves were designed with the cats running normally. When you change something like that, a lot of things change with it such as the mixture. The O2 sensors will report what they see but the onboard computer isn't going to be able to fix the mixture to satisfy what's wrong. So, sure its possible that you are seeing unburnt fuel there but it would appear as black smoke. Check out the exhaust tips and see if its gray or black. Pull your codes too and see what they tell you. Are you getting much blow-by from the oil spout? PCV valve checked lately if its still there?
