Upgrading to the Z06 Dry Sump

He can make it work. If it is a ls1/6, he may have to change the crank, but it is possible to do this job. It's just a matter of money and time brutha! Beat it to fit, paint it to match!!

Upgrade to the ARE pan while your doing it to maximize performance. You can use longer lines and place a tank in the trunk by building a cradle to tie into the frame. Also provides a good foundation for the battery box.

The LS7 crank has a 4" stroke, so at a bare minimum using it in an LS1/6 would result in 382 cubic inches.

Yeah we did alot of investigating on dry sumps. Each unit with my 402 build required I lose the air conditioning which I did not want even though my car is mainly a track car.
After some thought we decided to skip the 402 and put in a LS7-427 because the dry sump is part of the setup and you do not lose your air conditioning.
Charlie - are you planning on mounting the LS7 dry sump to a 346? I am not sure that will work, but I am by no means a tech. If everything fits (personally I dont think the ls7 pan would fit so that would be the first issue, but again I am not sure) you would need to move the battery to the trunk. I used the LPE kit. We fabricated a new panel for the PCM and mounted that to the fuse box. Its funny when I do through Tech at the track and corvette guys ask where the battery is
Also we had no problem running lines. We did not use the Ls7 tank because I wanted more capacity so we went with a different tank and then molded to fit around the C5 frame (I dont think you would have the same problem with the LS7 tank). All of the lines fit fine.
Here are some pictures from my build if that helps:
LS7 Pan
Oil Pump and adapter
Tank installed
Line from underneath
Picture of PCM mount prior to fabricating a panel for it to sit in.

I would love to see these pics. Does anyone have these pics by chance? I will PM Wicked Weasel, but I am just doing some research on what it would take to drop a stock LS7 with dry sump system into the C5. Obvs it takes rerouting the battery to the trunk, but just curious to see if there's any other obstacles with the dry sump.
