Hello fellow vetters I had the #6 rocker on the drivers side break I have 2004 Z06 Rockers on my 2000 LS1 I lost all the needle bearings and pieces of the bearing area. I have found 6 needle bearings and several pieces of the internals of the rocker. My plan is to flush the motor with 24 qts. the last 6 will be with the motor turned over a couple times to loosen any pieces that remain then put in 6 qts of Mobil 1 run for about 20 miles and do another oil change. My concern is the pick-up filter in the oil pan should I remove and replace it. This is my first vette I have the car about 2 ft in the air with the front of the car at bout 1-1/2 ft up will I be able to remove the oil pan with car at the height. I know that thier is 2 pieces to the pan but the dealer didn't have the gasket for the bottom pan. PLEASE HELP WITH THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THIS if you have anything that you can e-mail me here is my e-mail dacemfg@sbcglobal.net
If you drop the front crossmember you can remove the bottom part of the pan which will give you access to the oil pickup screen. The gasket is re-usable. HTH

In order to remove the oil pan you have to drop the front suspension cross-member.
