Default Air Filter lid question on 99'

Seems simple enough, Clean the MAF, throttle body and replace the air filter. When taking it all apart the spring clips that go around the outside of the top of the air lid un clipped from around the bottom of the air filter housing. Anyone know how the heck to get these back on?
Thanks,

Yes. However, it isn't something I can easily explain by writing about it. If you look at the bottom of the air cleaner housing you will see where the springs clip to the housing. It is sort of a hook arrangment and you have to pull the springs into place. Once I got them back in place they seemed to fall apart much easier so I used some RTV to hold them in place.

You have to remove the entire air intake assembly, but once that's done you can see where the ends are hooked/bent and attach to the bottom half of the assembly.
Then you can simply crimp the hooked/bent ends a little more and they should stay attached...

Thanks, I figured I would have to take the whole thing out and put the clips back in place.

Thanks for the replies.

OR...if you can fit them, you can "feel" them back in place by, with the hood up, placing your hands through the gap between the leading edge of the hood and the top rear edge of the front bumper and reaching down to the bottom of the bottom of the airbox. I've done it this way a couple of times.
