I have a Melling 10296 which I plan to use in my head/cam/intake swap. Have read to install the blue (stock psi) spring. I took the plug out and swapped springs. Melling instructions say to torque plug to 106 in.lbs.
Is that all that is needed or should some thread sealer be used? Sort of looked like there was a little bit of something on the threads but I couldn't really tell.....
Well I put the stock psi (blue) spring in the pump...didn't want too much pressure. Just looking at the Edelbrock two piece timing cover and I don't think it will clear the Melling pump. I will either have to clearance some or abandon that idea!! Won't know the answer for a few months until I get to the install.
