Default brain trust question on abs

ok im getting a C1242 c h BPMV Pump Motor Ground Circuit Open and i have sent my abs mod off for testing by abs fixer, its supposed to be good,,,knowing all this and i understand somewhat how the system works,,,if im wrong please tell me,,but i think when the key is turned it sends voltage to the unit ,,1st question,,can i open the plug and use a test light or volm meter to see if that battery is there? 2nd ouestion i think there is supposed to be a ground potential looking into the femaile plug ,is this true?but whta contacs and anyone have a picture of how to count them?thanks...also would it be safe to say tha 99% of the time this trouble is probably a bad connection or bad ground?

Ok, I'm assuming you have a C5 by the code you posted, but your sig says you have a C6. Helps to know what year car you have....

You have multiple threads opened on this subject. It would help if you consolidated all of this.
