I got the "chirp" last summer at 62K miles on my '98 coupe. Put on a GatorBack belt from Kragen's that cured it. I only replaced the alternator/water pump accessory belt. Did you replace the a/c belt too? If you didn't, perhaps the chirp is only from that belt. It's harder to replace than the access. belt, but not bad!

Good luck.....
Yep, replaced both belts with GM belts and both pulleys (a/c tensioner/idler) with GM units.
mine chirped after 2 different belts, i ended up putting on a new crank pulley, no more chirping Its quite amazing how much that little tiny bit of wobble affects things
My '98 chirped. Thought it was the upper tensioner. Replaced the pulley, still chirped. Replaced both belts with Gatorbacks 6 months ago. No chirp since.

where can I buy gatorbacks from? also I heard if you buy a smaller belt by only a few mm it helps. anyone know if that's true.

I put a slightly smaller belt on my daughter's '99 Coupe and sister-in-law's '98 Conv 4 years ago and the chirp never came back. It's amazing what a difference a couple of mm makes.
My 01 convertable chirps/ squeals, whatever until it warms up for 30 minutes. Going back to the shop today for the third time. it's driving me nuts!!! Turn up the radio....
