it really is as depressing as the stupid lil' face in the title. after installing a new radio, amp, and sub(ill post pics of my new custom L7 box for the c5 and by request a detailed right up and i have an extra box for sale) it started one night in the garage when i showed my wife the system, she jumped out of the car as soon as i turned it up and left the pass. door open all night so the next day i got a new battery and now when i try to start it the only thing i get is a noise from the pass. fuse box(i think) each time i turn the key all lights work nice and bright. this isnt the first time this happen. it started like 3-4 months ago but would end up starting within 10-20 tries then the problem would be gone for a while but now it back and its bad.... what would be the list of things i could try from the easiest and most simple to the hardest and most expensive? ......i always find most of what i need by searchin and finding a thread so this really is my first thread so dont let me down my corvette brothers
i did disconnect the amp right away and i didnt drain the battery again. did i write that? i wiggled the shifter a bit and put it in "N" and it did start. i kno the problem isnt gone so im still lookin for the solution I was and still am so freaking happy it started
Why do women, especially wives, not understand that you have to shut the door?
Maybe because they don't like the car to begin with, and it is there way of insuring you will not be driving it anytime soon because you will need to charge the battery! - they understand perfectly
I, being a woman and I wife would never do that unless of course my vette was broke and I didn't want him to drive off in his without fixing mine. Of course, I know better and less obvious ways to disable the car then leaving the door open, but of course that is my secret!
My C5 will turn over but wont start unless you crak the engine for what I concider a long time. Once it does start it satys running so I have ruled out the fuel pump. Could it be the fuel pump relay? No DTC codes

You should start your own thread, instead of hijacking this one..

I checked the relays and they are good. But when I checked the fuel rail and guess what no fuel. Also you turn the key you cant hear the fuel pump spin up so I am suspecting I found the problem, the fuel pump. Would a leaky injector cause there to be no pressure at the rail as well?

thanks for the helpfull information. Now I understand peoples resistance to ask questions in this forum when responses like this are what you get to an honest question

It's not that at all, it's poor form bro. The OP has an issue that he requires specific help with, so why not let him get it, and start your own thread.....so you can get specific help.
The Primary Starting and Secondary starting circuit normally wont set any DTC's as it is not monitored by the serial data buss or a computer. What causes the car NOT to crank is something in this circuit:
Start at the IGN2 Fuse and trace the line all the way thru. The "A" in the triangle connects to the "A" in the triangle at the TOP of the page.
I like to start troubleshooting at the Theft Deterrent Relay (TDR). You can read almost everything you need to read there.
Another VERY IMPORTANT area are the battery terminals. MAKE SURE that the terminals are clean and properly torqued to the battery at "11 ft/lbs.
Another area that often causes trouble is the "CRIMPED" connections inside the rubber covering on the battery terminals. Check those crimps for corrosion and discoloration. Seen that issue 4-5 times!
NEXT, check the actual battery terminal connection on the starter solenoid. They come loose a LOT. While your there make sure there all tight. Then make sure that the NEGATIVE terminal on the block is clean and tight.
C5 starter solenoids are KNOWN to go bad! Mine went bad. I kept a 3 foot metal rod in the trunk to RAP the solenoid when mine wouldn't start. You can change JUST the solenoid if thats the problem. Quick $40 fix!
