Rear Differential Help
Hi Guys,
Turns out on my 2001 convertible 6 speed, that the rear diffential is bad. I have two questions...
1. Anyone have experience with RPM Transmission or Rockland Standard? I have reccomendations from both...
2. The car has a 3.42 now, should I swich to a 3.90?
Thanks Guys!!

RPM is the way to go. I have bought several units from them and have had no problems.
Don't know why you want a 3.90 unless you're a drag racer.

RPM is the way to go. A gear change will cost nothing when they are swapping diff's....depends on what your goals are as to the gear!

Thanks, the car is stock, thought the 3.90 would make it quicker. It costs the same amount.

I want quicker acceleration. For a stock car I assume I don't need the heavy duty version...correct?

All depends on how you drive it.

For stock horsepower they will probably say stage I - but for piece of mind I would go stage 2.

I would go 3.90, it makes 6th gear on the highway so much more useable. Also, while in there you might consider some upgrades.
