Default Need help ! Hurst shifter real noisey

I replaced the stock shifter with a hurst and the noise is pretty bad any suggestions. does anyone know if the B&M Ripper is any quiter.

Did you put a new rubber boot on the shifter? It makes a huge difference in the sound that is transmitted. I put a generic hurst boot on mine and modified (i.e., cut the metal plate) to fit the C5. Do some searching and you will find the info.

I put in a Hurst and the noise was a little bit louder (barely noticable), I would check all the bolts to make sure they are tight. I'm sure you could always add another piece of rubber to insulate it.

I cut the facory boot like the directions told me to and it is a real tight seal. The noise is when i'am driving or leting off the gas. i did buy the hurst boot with the metal around it but did'nt try it yet. do you think that if i put that over top of the factory one that it will help.

Many of the after market shifters are noisy because they lack the vibration reducing rubber isolation that oem has on the lever.
If you want quiet, you're going to have to look at oem C6/Z06, B&M "Sport" or MGW.
Otherwise, it's the price you pay for the solid billet construction.

Thanks for your input. I have been looking into the MGW and it seems like a good shifter . Have you ever used this shifter before? I did some reading on other threads and it's seems like that is the shifter to use.
