Output shafts are internal to the differential. Halfshafts slide into each side of the differential and connect to the rear hubs.
so that is internal....any pics of stock vs aftermarket and any broken pics?
i wanted to do a hardened one...is it somethings if youre mechanically inclined i could do in my garage or does it require special tools cuz i was thinking of getting one from DTE from their sale that last till the end of Dec
that was AMR and robz's car....when you break the long shaft...does it take out the ring gear?...so the half shafts go from the rear end to the wheels...do they break?...what connects the two shafts together?

I have been pleasantly surprised to see no one posting up problems with either axle breaking. By all accounts they are pretty damn tough.
Our C5s use inner and outer CV joints with a solid steel shaft in between.
