2001-2004 key fobs- not your typical question
Hello,
I've searched in and out and cannot find a clarification on the following:
I have a 2001 tpms/remote entry RECEIVER and it clearly says:
FCC ID: KOBLEAR1XR
and
I understand all the '01-'04 key fobs are GM PN: 25695954
and
they're all over ebay for $5 each
BUT
THEY ARE ALL:
KOBLEAR1XT
even though they have the same p/n, does anyone know for sure if the KOBLEAR1XT will work??
I don't want to get stuck with something that will be a paperweight.
All your guidance is appreciated!

T= transmitter (fob)
R= receiver (in car)
They're the right ones.

I was just looking at your profile. In your biography it says your car started life in 2007. I am assuming you meant 1997 since you say it made it's way to Canada 11 years later.
I also assume since you're looking at the newer fobs and the receiver is from a 2001 that you are changing out the older system. If so, please post how it goes. Several people are interested in doing that to get the newer, cheaper fobs and tps sensors.

'01 Factory Key Fob Numbers
My original '01 Key Fob reads: GM/LEAR 25695954
FCC ID: KOBILEAR1XT
The ones on eBay should be fine.
