Default fuel pump replaced

I replaced my noisy fuel racetronix fuel pump with a LPE pump and the noise is STILL THERE
I had installed an aftermarket pump about 1 1/2 years (4000 miles) ago. Then approx. 1 1/2 months ago, right before a "road trip" it starting getting much louder (Sounded like fuel being sprayed under pressure, almost a "hissing" sound) Well I feared the worst, and after getting some second and third opinions here, and on LS1tech, I decided to replace the pump. Well I got it installed today, and....the noise is the same. I had already replaced my fuel filter, and I checked the fuel pressure at idle, and it's 60+ (gauge only reads 60psi)
So I guess I'll just drive it and if it fails, Oh Well

FYI our pumps are Walbro / LPE pumps... ?

Pressure under WOT is one of the best indicators of pump performance.

Not necessarily trying to dis the pump, just letting guys know that changing the pump out, in my case, did not eliminate the noise. I'm not sure if the old one was NOT bad, or the new one is. I wouldn't have thought much of it if it wasn't for the fact that the pump was very quite for several months (and miles) then all of a sudden it started making a louder noise. This pump is every bit as loud, and is actually very annoying
I have the racetronixs harness hooked up (directly to the alternator) and it makes me wonder if it is basically "overworking" the pump, by running it aster than is necessary for everyday driving.

Take a step back, and think about what you are saying here. The pump is designed to work within the output of a 12 volt system. The only difference in a direct wire hookup, is that you won't see the drop in voltage to the pump like you would if it were sharing the line side with other circuits. Provided the voltage regulator is functioning properly, the alternator is only capable of putting out so much voltage....it is not an endless source.

Live with it, turn the stereo up....or something. Factory pumps are know to whine for no reason as well.

I see as much as 13.5+ when the battery is slightly drained, and the LPE instructions stated one pressure for 12 volts and higher psi for more voltage, so I just wondered

If the noise doesn't indicate the pump is "going bad" I don't have a problem living with it. When I posted the question here and on LS1tech, the consensus was that the the noise indicated the pump was going bad. If that wasn't the case, I SURE could have used that money for a performance mod instead (Like getting my FAST ported)

Well, now you know how heavily you can rely on the various "opinions" when it comes to fuel pump noise.

I don't even hear my pump at all............
If the noise is there than maybe it's related to the fuel return line...I had this happened on my Jeep and it was throwing me in the loop for a while.
BTW,don't know what's the fuel pressure should be on c5 ,but 60+ sounds high......

Nominal pressure is supposed to be 58 psi. 60 is no biggie.

Just a suggestion but why not wire the pump through a relay so the voltage would be a constant 12 volts and sound the samr all the time?

how would a relay make the voltage constant at 12 volts, when the vehicle electrical system is not capable of staying constant at 12 volts?
