How many qts does the tranny hold?

I don't know the exact number, but I do know it's recommended to buy 4 quarts for the fluid change... so I would guess between 3 and 4 quarts. But that's for a manual... what kind of tranny are we talking about?

I though 8 sounded off, the lady at Carquest told me to get 8 qts! It's a manual

I just changed the fluid in my 6 speed and I bought 4 quarts of mobil 1 synthetic dexron III ATF and used all but about 1/2 quart.

well compared to taking my whole rear diff out yesterday and swapping it w dte stg 3 and dropping my tunnel plate and all of that good stuff there's no way changing the fluid's gonna be hard haha

I did mine last week. Piece of cake assuming you have one of those cheap pumps. Held about 3.5 qts. I used Royal Purple Synchro.

Not at all. If you have just even a basic mechanical knowledge you can perform this service. Just get it up in the air and remove the drain plug and let it drain good and then put the plug back in and remove the fill plug and install 3 1/2 quarts of fluid and you are good to go. It is really very easy.
