The big advantage is the weight savings. The sound is a lot louder at full throttle. Pulling out of the pits at Watkins Glen going into Turn 2 and I have had a number of stock muffler Zs pass me at WOT and they are loud. They make the noise where it counts at max rpms and throttle. Normal C5 mufflers are quiet at the same point.

They are very light weight, have a good sound that is not to aggressive for those not wanting that 'Stinger' sound. They flow pretty well and of course have an OEM fit.
I happen to have one take off set here as well if anyone is interested.
Ti's are hands down the absolute best exhaust for a street driven Vette. Plenty of members here have 550-600 hp and still use them. No drone, light weight, nice loooks.

I have LT's w/ cats and stock Ti's on my 03 z06 that is daily driven. It's louder than stock, but not too obnoxious. However, on the track at WOT it does get really loud. I was Laguna Seca a couple weeks ago and after a session, the two guys that I went with who have cars with stock exhaust (VW R32 & BMW 135) said, "Man, your car sucks...it's so loud that I can't even heard my own car's engine when I am behind you!" I thought that was funny.
I have a set of Ti's on my 04 coupe and the only thing I miss from the Stingers I used to have is the BIG 4" tips.... The Ti's tips look tiny after having the Stingers on the car.
well heres the trhing, i wana buy LT's then theres a shop by me i can get a full custom welded exhaust, theyll do an xpipe and straight pipes, i want it to be loud, but not to the point where i get a headache when i get out

Before you go with straight pipes, try and listen to a C5 with straight pipes first. They sounds awful, like a motor boat. Nothing worse than having your nice high tech C5 sound like a 73 duster with a rotten muffler.

If you're not running cats, you won't worry about the headache, you'll be deaf!
If you are running cats then it'll only be loud with a drone at some highway cruising rpm. Most people that I know that have gone with SLP's loudmouth (closest production catback to straight pipes) don't recommend them for DDs.
One thing about the Ti's: you can buy them for about $400, try them, and if you don't like them you can sell them for, about $400.
I read about using the zo6 stock Ti exhaust with long tube headers, and the sound being very nice. My question, as I have an '04 zo6, is: what is required in the way of fabrication if installing long tube headers onto a stock Ti system? Is is major? Cutting/Welding? Or is there a bolt on method.
