Re: WOW talk about safty rules for a convertable (Charley Hoyt)
Yes, there are days when it would be nice to be short.
Another point to keep in mind....If you are faster then 12.0 sec. you have to have wrist restraints. This was a new one by me...but that's what they tried to use to throw me out last weekend. Man what a pain.
Um, wrist restraints? Are we talking gloves? The side bar? Window nets? A $20 bill taped to the window? Something else entirely?

At first I thought the offical was pulling my leg.....I had to talk to the head official to find out the facts. It turns out that wrist restraints are some kind of a do-hickey (technical term :)) that tie your hands to your seat belt (of course they are longe enough to allow you to drive). They are intended to keep your arms from flying out where they could be crushed if the car rolls over. I have never even heard of them before...let alone seen them. Mayby someone with more knowledge on the subject can fill us in????

reeves, As I understand, the finished product was much better, and didnt have to notch the tonneu cover. Make Nick Agostino can chime in.
This bar sits much farther back than the one from Exotic Muscle, and I like that. But the reason the EM one sits so far forward is to allow the roof to function normally. The bar pictured above does, however, look like the roof might function just fine.
Note: the EM bar is only for road racing, it has no side bars for drag regulations.
