My 2000 Coupe has sat for a few weeks due to my left foot in a cast. Charged the battery the other night and drove the car yesterday, all good except the auto-locks do not lock when I hit 10-12 miles per hour, do not unlock when I pull the key. I ran through the Options button on the DIC, which says it is on, but this function doesn't work. Turned it off, then programmed it back on, nothing. Any ideas?
try disconnecting the battery for 20 min. then reconnecting and reset/program desired functions. also, you might have the system on driver 2 as opposed to driver 1. make sure it is set to the right one. dunno really, just my thoughts.
check to make sure battery connections are tight and clean too.
I will try that. Odd thing is that the battery wasn't totally dead, just didn't have enough power to fire the motor. All the presets are still there, only thing that reset was the MPG reading. Everything else was fine.
low batteries can cause all kinds of problems. if voltage dropped enough when you tried to start it could wipe out all presets. also, charge the battery to full charge before you retry.
My battery started to go and I also had lots of weird intermittent problems. Battery said it was charged but went down to 6 volts when cranking and would only last about 20minutes with the car off. Replaced battery and all problems solved.
Not to hijack your post, but I have never had the doors auto lock on me when driving my 99FRC. I don't actually remember it being an option on my DIC either. Did FRC's not have this option?
A guy I work with has a 99 FRC. His does not have the auto-lock option either. The battery is a 3 year old Red Top. I slow charged the car all night, so the battery was fully charged. Everything works, it just won't automatically lock at 10 mph anymore. It is just weird. They battery didn't go completely dead, I didn't even have to re-learn the key fobs.
