Default Z06 injectors vs Stock Coupe injectors

I'm looking to squeeze a few extra ponies out of my 97 C5 coupe and I'm considering a set of 2002 Z06 injectors.

Right now my setup is LS6 intake, 243 heads w sodium valves milled to 62cc comb cambers, a mild MTI Stealth cam, Vararam, Longtubes, X pipe, and Cat back. Stock injectors and fuel system. 409 rwhp.

I understand that my stock injectors are 26lb, and Z06's had 28 lb. Is this true?

Would it be benificial for me to upgrade to the 28lb injectors given my current mods?

Thanks to all in advance and Merry CHRISTmas!

I would upgrade. I'm pretty sure you're 26lb injectors are at 90% + duty cycle.

You have 28.8# injectors now.

26.2# were used on 99-00 only.

Either way, 30# SVO injectors would be a worthwhile upgrade for you.

You need to check you duty cycle of your injectors when you tune. 97-98 had 28lbs so upgrading to Z06 would do nothing.

Of course.

And the 30s will be more than ample for his setup and hp level. (they actually flow 36# @58psi and will support over 450rwhp...adequate for most h/c cars).

but I don't think he is going to pick up any HP unless his current injectors are maxing out I would check that 1st before I would spend the extra dough. If he changes them he will also have to pay for a tune.

You have head/cam/longtubes. You should be asking this question of your tuner. If the injectors you have now are not reaching max duty cycle, going to a higher capacity injector won't help. Your PCM is only going to demand so much fuel to keep your A/F ratio within the programmed map. Just because your injectors have the ability to put more fuel in, doesn't mean your PCM is going to request more fuel. Your tuner can likely put a little larger injectors in and raise a few map segments without getting into detonation. Then you may pick up a few hp. Otherwise, you're wasting your money.
