It's 70degrees here in VA today so i thought i would take my 99vert out for a spin. I can't seem to back it out of the garrage because its locking out reverse. The car is a 6speed manual. I acually put a new Z06 unit in it 3 years ago. I doubt i have put more then 4,000 miles on it since then. I pushed it out and took it for a spin. All the other gears work fine and the speedo works so i guess it can't be the speed sensor. Any ideas?
my linkage connection at the shifter ( big torx head bolt ) backed out a bit and it was tough to find reverse or 1st... to the point that 1st disappeared.
after I got it re-adjusted, I had NO problem getting it to go into reverse.
not saying it's the solution, but it might not hurt to look into it.

I didn't see the wire when I removed my tranny for a clutch swap. I spent a few months forcing and battling the reverse gear. Read a bit and decided it may be the reverse lock out solenoid. So I jacked it up and discovered the wire ripped out of the connector. A littel soldering and I'm happy again. Point is I love this forum.
