Default Service Coloumn Lock

I had my Column Lock recall done several years ago on my 2000 Auto. The removed the column lock and installed the harness. I have no problems since then, then over the weekend I received the dreaded message wait 10 sec and pull the key, which I did. Now I am receiving Service Column Lock message and I cant move more than 2 feet without the fuel shutoff happening. Any idea? Anyone else have this happen?

Thanks!!
Chuck

Pull your underdash cover, hook it back up to stock set up. It should run. Then buy a clb or another k-harness. More than likely the relay in your k- harness took a crap...........

My '97 had to be done by the dealership three times! The last time was last year, no reissue yet.

thanks for the input. Yes when I took the k harness out I reconnected the cables back to factory. I check all the fuses and they are ok. With the CLB from Corvettes of Houston fix this issue? I am at wits end

Follow the instructions exactly and you will be back on the road.

With the CLB installed the column will NEVER be locked again.
I had both the CLB AND the Harness K and I STILL got the "Pull Key, Wait 10 Sec." display. It was so frustrating that I got rid of the car.

It's my understanding that the CLB does not address the fuel shutoff issue he has. I think he has to get the computer reprogrammed, and just installing the CLB alone will not get rid of the 2 MPH shutoff.

I think getting rid of the car is a bit extreme. There has to be something that can fix this

8VETTE7, so I am clear. I had the recall done several years ago, they took out the plate and installed the k harness. All was good. A while after the recall I had the problem again, I read the posts and found the removing the k harness would solve the problem. Was good for a couple of years. Several months ago received the pull key message and then column lock message. Re read the posts again and finally took out my My Hypertech tuner and put the car back to factory defaults and then reloaded the Hypertech mods and the car was fine. I still had the Service Column Lock message but I was able to drive the car, no stalling at 2mph. Then this weekend I got the 10 sec message and fuel cutoff. Like I ihave mentioned I tried all the workarounds. No k harness, new battery as when I took it up to be tested it was failing, so the hell I bought a new one. I used the Hypertech again set it to factory defaults, still have the cutoff. Reloaded the Hypertech advanced mods and still have the cutoff. So I guess I am asking will the CLB from Corvettes of Houston solve the error message and the fuel cutoff?

The Harness K relay has failed.
You cannot simply remove the harness. You have to either reconnect the column lock actuator, install another Harness K relay, or install an aftermarket column lock bypass relay.
The BCM is looking for a signal from the actuator that the column is in the unlocked position before allowing the vehicle to be driven.
The relays simulate the actuator signal to the BCM. If they fail, or are missing, the BCM will cut the fuel.
