Default AC/Heat problems

Hey guys...I know there are a number of posts on this subject. But the subject is so long I'm finding it hard to get the info I'm looking for.

So.. I'm hoping someone may have had the same problem as I am having.. and may be able to guide me on what the next steps I should take.

I added coolant to the car this past summer and it did help. Especially the passenger side. But, the driver side is still not blowing as cold.
Now that it's winter, the heat is working about the same as the AC did. The passenger side gets hot/warm and the driver is still a little cooler. Not as warm.
Has any one seen this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

I have not checked the codes yet... but I will as soon as my mechanic replaces the oil sending unit... for the third time this year. The car is at his shop now. If it's something I can check and fix.. I'll do it as soon as I get the car back. But if it's something you guys feel he needs to do or look at .. I'll let him do it while he has the car.

Thanks.
PS: The car is a 2001 cope with dual zone controls.

When I had similar AC problems, I was worried about the actuators malfunctioning as has been documented here on the forum. Turns out I was low on R134, and simply charging the system fixed me. Is this what you meant by "adding coolant?" If not, you may want to start there.
