Default Ride control suspension ?

I have a 99 coupe with the ride control suspension that needs to be replaced. My question is when I replace do I have to put the ride control stuff back on or can I replace it with somthing else?
If so what what would be the best shocks to put on it?

Thanks,
Michael

You can replace your selective ride shocks with regular shocks. I do believe you have to make some programming changes or you will have problems. There are some threads on this subject. Try using search feature. You should find what you need to know.

Hard to recommend shocks without knowing what you are looking for in terms of ride and how much you want to spend.

There are lots of threads on shocks. If you want to get fancy you could get adjustable shocks (Koni FSD or Phadt), or get coilovers which would replace both shocks and springs.

C6zo6 shocks and have the F45 deleted from the PCM with a tech2 probably cost $400 installed and deleted. Ad theC5z06 sway bars and end links and your coupe will be better than new
Thats what I did and I am very happy.. Best luck

The F-45 RPO option lives in the BCM and the TECH II is the only game in town to access and program it out of the BCM. Un plug the F-45 control module (Its located in the left rear trunk well behind the flap of carpet) and use the tech II to remove the RPO Code. NEVER RECONNECT the module or the BCM will reactivate the function and you will need to re-program it out again!

I highly recommend the C6 ZO6 shocks also. Great upgrade and there inexpensive. I have them on my 02 ZO6.

Call or contact Gene Culley www.gmpartshouse.com as he has probably the best price on them There like $250 for ALL FOUR shocks!!! Cant beat that!

You can also find some used C5 ZO6 or the Z-51 sway bars and metal end links or ask Gene for the C6 sway bar package that he sells for your car.

Once you get rid of that selective ride crap, you will wonder what took you so long to up grade~!

Let us know which route that you take and what you think of the improvements.
