This one about made me swallow my tonque. I'm getting a "Check ABS", "Check Traction control" and "Check Active Handling system" warnings on by display. The The ABS / Traction control / Active Handling warning lights are also lit up in the instrument panel.
At first, I would get the warnings, and then after 5 or 6 startups, the lights and warnings would clear. Now the warning messages and the lights are on constantly.
I took it in to the local Chevy dealer this week, and he is saying the ABS system has shorted out. The controller and valve body both need replacing. Retail on the 2 parts is $3600. The brakes work fine, I just don't have ABS, traction control or the active handling feature.
I had a similar problem. Are you receiving the C1214 code too? I'll bet its your EBCM. If you car is no longer under warranty - contact www.absfixer.com and have your EBCM repaired and upgraded for only $200. Mike
Turn the key to the ON position, but don't start the engine. Clear any present messages by pressing the RESET button. Hold the OPTIONS button down, and press the FUEL button 4 times. This will get you into the CODES section of the DIC. The computer will automatically display all the codes your car has created. It will cycle through each code every 3 seconds. Any codecode that starts with an "H" is a history code (something that has occured in the past) but is fine now. Codes that start with a "C" are current codes. Once the computer has finished going through all of it's codes, press RESET to enter Manual Configuration mode.
To optionally reset the codes once in manual mode, press and hold RESET until it displays "NO CODES". Press OPTIONS to go to the next module. Repeat the steps in this paragraph until you have reset the codes in all the computer modules. NOTE !! Only reset the codes IF you want to - it is NOT necessary to do this.

Once you're done reading through the codes and resetting them (or not) - you can leave this mode by pressing the button the controls the metric or US display.
Mine does this whenever I spin wheels. I'll get the "Traction control active" or "Active handling" message. Then I get the "Service this", "service that" messages. They go away after a restart the car.
It will also do it intermittantly for no reason at all.
Is this solveable by rebuilding or replacing the EBCM?

I don't believe the OP is talking about having these codes, lights and error messages come on while spinning his tires. I think its a recurring problem he's having while operating the vette during normal driving conditions. Is this correct? Having the AH/TC message pop up and go away when spinning tires (losing and regaining traction) is normal.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that immediately following the normal AH/TC active messages I get the "service ABS/TC/AH" messages. I also get the service ABS/TC/AH messages randomly during normal driving conditions.
Oh hell I don't know. Probably a ton since I'm also currently experiencing the non-working door switch problem that sets off every warning light the car has.
I hate this car.
thats correct. the warning lights come on and stay on. I did do the fault code check, I'm getting codes 28TCS c1214HC, c1248H and c1255H; and 60IPC U1160H. I gonna go looking for their descriptions next. Thanks for the help. I'm working on my ground connectors right now to see if that remedies anything. If not, I'll be figuring out how to un-install the EBCM and ship it to ABS fixer.

C1214HC is the culprit. Check out the grounds, but in all probability its off to ABS Fixer. Its a fairly simple repair and replace. PM trussme, he has a good write up.
