Default 1-7/8 ARH - New Dyno Sheet

Well, today I finally got in to XXX Motorsports in Pensacola after installing my ARH 1-7/8 headers w/ high flow cats. John got my vette all tuned back up and it's A N G R Y !!!!!

Here's the previous dyno sheet with the following mods; 3.42 gear, shift kit, vacuum modulator, trans cooler pkg, 2600 stall t/c, Ti Z06 catback, blower cam, hardened pushrods, Patriot springs, TR55 plugs, ported oil pump, 160 tstat, A&A V3 SQ S/C w/ 3.62 pulley, Lingenfelter pump, 60# injectors.

Old numbers: 469 rwhp / 425 rwtq

Here's the new dyno sheet - only mod is the ARH headers/cats.

New numbers: 509 rwhp / 466 rwtq.

That's an ADDITIONAL 40 rwhp / 41 rwtq !!!!!!

John is going to meet me at the local dragstrip this Sunday (test & tune). I'll let you guys know what it does.

The Vette Doctors was having a sale on them installed w/a tune. Not sure where you live, but you can always contact them about pricing.

Those are impressive gains for just a header swap. I wouldn't have guessed it to be such a big gain, but you can't beat a 40rwhp gain for the $$.

Prior exhaust setup was stock 02 coupe headers/cats/H pipe, Ti Z06 catback.

I called Nick at ARH direct. He offered a holiday special based on the discount some others were offering (above post mentions Vette Doctors, I thought Nick told me ECS). Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge matched the price I was quoted, and since I've bought most of my mods from them, I bought the ARH system from them too.

Just in case anyone was wondering, these are SAE corrected numbers. The temp was a cool dry 64F in Pensacola today and the UNCORRECTED hp was 535 rwhp!!!! I don't know what the uncorrected number was on the previous dyno.

I'd love to be running that fast, but that's just a little too far off street driveability for me. I know a lot of guys run big gears and high stalls and still drive on the street, but I drive 50 miles/day through heavy traffic. My 3.42 and 2600 stall are already farther than I initially intended to go. However, as I'm sure you well know, every pass down the strip has me grinning from ear to ear and then I don't mind it.

This gain was over stock exhaust with a Ti cat back? Just want to make sure I understand.

Yes, as I indicated above, I already had 469 rwhp with lots of mods including a A&A V3 supercharger, but the exhaust was totally stock except for the Titanium Z06 catback. I removed my stock headers, cats, and H pipe and installed the ARH 1-7/8 headers with high flow cats (still going through the Ti Z06 catback) and then dynoed 509 rwhp. Nothing else was changed besides the ARH system. It made 40 rwhp!!! I was expecting mid 30's at best. I was very surprised (and pleased).

I still don't get it. You keep saying "stock headers". But stock exhaust is manifolds, not headers. Going from manifolds to headers should have given you that gain anyway even with junk headers. Heck, I gained 60rwhp and 40ft-lbs by gutting my cats and leaving the rest alone. Ti mufflers both before and after. I'd expect to gain that again by going to headers.

You gained 60hp by gutting your cats? those must have been some very clogged cats. His tune was also maximized for that set-up so his numbers would'nt be as high as a stock vehicle jusy adding headers and a tune. Those are still impressive gains. Did you loose any boost with addition of the headers seeing as how it breathes easier now. If you lost a couple of pounda of boost you'll find more hp with a pulley change to get yop back where you started boost wise

I stand corrected. Everywhere above I've written "stock headers", I mean the stock exhaust manifold.

It's good to know that the cats are the primary driver of reducing the restriction to get higher hp numbers, but 40 rwhp is still an EXCELLENT increase for a common exhaust mod and I'm tickled pink with it.

I've been having trouble with my CarDomain account so I started one on Photobucket. Try this link and let me know if it's any better...

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...Dyno_ARH_3.jpg

There are four lines, all Power curves;

1 - 296 rwhp - stock + CAI + Ti Z06 catback.
2 - 326 rwhp - + 3.42 gear + 2600 stall t/c + TR blower cam
3 - 469 rwhp - + A&A V3 S/C
4 - 509 rwhp - + ARH 1-7/8 LTs w/ high flow cats.

If anyone is interested, I'll post the one from this week with shows only the latest curves for Power and Torque (509 rwhp / 466 rwtq).
