What about the actual wires themselves? The previous owner had an aftermarket stereo system and radar detector installed into the car and I noticed that some of them splice into the wire harness for the ignition switch. Maybe one of them went bad?
You guys wouldn't happen to have the schematic for the ignition switch wiring, would you? I'm trying to download that service manual on dvd thing but I don't even know if my system will be supported (I'm not running windows).

Ok, what have you checked so far? Have you verified the continuity/resistance value between the ignition switch connector C1 pin B and the line side of fuse 14? Also, which wire has the splice? After your repaired on the ignition switch, have you checked the resistance value between contact A of C2 and contact B of C1 on the ignition switch? All these checks are on the diagrams you already have.
So we figured it out! Thanks to the help of lucky, we found out that there's a kill switch in the car. I finally found where it was and when I 'reset' it, the car started up like nothing was wrong.
I can't believe this entire time it was as simple as that. Thanks to everyone for all your help! When we meet, rest assured beers will be on me.

Cool that you found it but how was it able to drive before you found it and then what changed that you tripped it but didn't know what it was? Again, happy you found it.
The old 'cigarette lighter kill switch'. Haven't seen one of those for a long time.
Yaa I wish the previous owner would've told me about it. Would've saved me lots of hassle this week

Well, when I tried the vacuum the first time I tried the cigarette lighter port in the front. When I saw that it wasn't hot, I went to the back then but never put the actual cigarette lighter back into the port. I never noticed it before because I don't smoke, so I never really had a need to touch the thing.
I'm probably going to just pull it out completely this weekend. I have a lot of great friends that would love to pull a prank and take the lighter out and not tell me
