the info was in a search. I said to unplug a couple plugs, unscrew 4 screws, use a hook puller to pull the wheel, etc. One said the procedure was in the manual. Written manual instructions would be great or pics...

I’m guessing it’s a convertible thing.

Folding Top Clock Spring Replacement
Removal Procedure

1. Open the folding top stowage lid.

2. Position the top with the number one bow and the number five bow up.

3. Grasp the clock spring with vice grips or pliers and remove the spring end from the roof link pin.

4. Remove the nut.

5. Remove the clock spring and pin.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the flat washer, bushing, and gripper washer to the clock spring pin.

2. Install the clock spring with pin to the arm.

Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the nut. Tighten the clock spring nut to 3.5 N·m (30 lb in).

4. Grasp the end of the clock spring with vice grips or pliers.

5. Wind the clock spring and insert the end of the spring into the roof link pin.

I think it's over the muffler bearing right next to the blinker fluid reservoir

OK . its the spring that has to work with the airbag and can be broken if the wheel is turned to far.

Wow, are you are talking about the Steering Wheel Inflator Module Coil? If so Lucky was right when he said “Right.......good luck with that..... ”. You really need a service manual. There’s danger in there and somewhat involved.

1. remove the drivers side airbag.
2. remove the steering wheel.
3. pull the clockspring off the column and unplug it.
4. reverse the procedure to reassemble.

It's not difficult or dangerous but you do need the right tools to pull the steering wheel and I highly recommend a service manual.
