Or , if you don't want to buy one, maybe find an outfit like a car club or local SCCA that runs AutoX or track days and give them a call. They usually have to monitor sound levels at their events and would probably help you out.

Have you considered contacting the manufacturer of the exhaust?
That will give you a basis, but carbon buildup within a system might have an affect over time...

Just for fun, below are some informal readings I took with a decibel meter a few years ago on my head/cam/header setup when I switched from 2-tip Stingers to Ti's. Borlas sounded awesome but had huge resonance problem I couldn't live with. Remember that the decibel scale is logarithmic so a 10 decibel increase = a 10x increase in sound intensity.

Stinger-Z06 Decibel readings

Outside readings taken @ 10 ft. center/rear of car
Interior readings taken @ passenger seat
Radio Shack sound meter

Borla Stingers (2-tip)
Cold start - 110 dB
After 1 min. – 100 dB
Oil temp @ 100 deg. F – 96 dB
Interior idle - 90 dB
Interior rev - 98 dB
4K rev – 96 dB
Brief hits of 100dB in interior while driving

Z06 Ti
Cold start - 96 dB
Warm idle - 87 dB
Interior idle - 84 dB
Interior rev – 92 dB
Redline interior – 89 dB

You make me seem to be like an 8th grader on a college campus!Your grasp of the winter gas blends(from my winter MPG thread) ,decibel levels, car care and so on,,I must give you aand a tip of the hat!!I contribute when I can,,but there are SO many here that I now read a lot more that I type now!!
