Default Key Fob Issue

I think... I tried to unlock the car today, nothing happened. Couldn't lock or unlock it, or pop the trunk. Tried to unlock it maually which was fine, but then the car was making a soft whining noise inside, and when I put the key in the ignition nothing happened. This is the only key I have, what's my next step. Thanks.

Start by pulling the codes but I suspect that the battery is dead.

Yeah, nothing happened at all, except the speedo went to 30mph and stuck there. But no lights came on, nothing. Does the battery effect if the key fob will work or not? How do I pull the codes if the car won't power up?

Sounds like a dead battery. The power locks are powered by the vehicles battery, no juice means no unlock. Charge up the battery and you should be good although you may need to reprogram the FOB.

that you have battery trouble.
If the key fob does not work after you take care of the battery issue:
Stand by the drivers door and hold the Lock & Unlock buttons down at the same time for about 7 seconds. The lights should flash. The fob is now reprogrammed. I don't think that you will need to do that. The fob battery is not dead so it did not loose it's program.
Good luck

That doesn't reprogram the fob. It only resyncs an already programmed fob. If it did, anyone with a fob could walk up to your car, hold down the lock/unlock buttons and open your car. If the program is lost, you have to reprogram the fob through the DIC.
I do agree however that the fob won't cause your issue. It sounds like a weak battery or bad battery connections like the others have responded. My first plan of attack would be to check the battery connections and charge the battery, then see if the fob worked and the car started and worked like it should. If everything is ok, except the fob, then try the resync procedure above, if it still doesn't work, use the DIC to reprogram.
As Boulty said, you probably won't have to do anything with the fob once you get the car going.

What sound? What ever was (or is) making that sound could be draining down your battery.

It was the battery. I think I hit something in the CD changer in the back and it cycled all night. Anyway the lock/unlock thing worked, but when I got home after I washed the car I had to do it again. I think I'll probably have to go through the DIC to get the right fix. Thanks for the help
