Engine noise...
I have a 2000 FRC with 26,000 miles. Purchased it with 7500 miles. Heres the question. When I start the car (cold) I get a ticking noise about 1 minute++ after starting. It will go away once the engine reaches normal operating temp. Shut the engine off, wait 10 minutes and restart. I hear the same ticking only then it goes away 5-10 seconds later. Some say piston slap some say other things. I have researched this forum on the matter but none have said the noise starts 1 minute ++or so after the cold start. Any thoughts?

My 02 with 10,000 miles on it is identical. No noise immediately after cold start. About a minute later the noise starts. Warmed up it goes away. Don't notice it after that on subsequent warm starts though. Normal piston slap. My last C5 did the same thing. Is this a change for your car since you first bought it?
