Ok guys I have the first one of probably many questions that will come up during my winter mods. I am in the process of swapping heads cam and exhaust and figured "while I'm at it" replacing clutch and fixing trans leak. Anyway I do a ton of reading on all of the projects I'm undertaking and know all about the search funtion. That being said I am still uncertain whether to just install my new LS7 clutch and flywheel as is or move the balance weights (if any, haven't got there yet) from my old flywheel. I will index old flywheel prior to removing. The last thing I want is a vibration. Any thoughts? Please don't make this a which clutch is better issue the LS7 unit is already sitting in my garage. Thanks. Kevin.

The worst thing to do is take the current weights off the LS7 flywheel and install yours. Yours would be for the weight and balance of your flywheel, not the LS7. In other words, install the LS7 with its own weights and call it a day.
That is what I would think but have read posts about vibrations after the clutch job. I have inferred from some posts that the weights in the flywheel control balance of engine and need to be transferred.. I will be calling you Gene for a new ls6 master this week and also some trans gaskets. I'm all ears for anyone with experience with this. Kevin.
I received my ls7 clutch today and I see a bunch of paint marks and its not completely clear how I should orient the pp to the flywheel .
or are they both 0 balanced and no need to worry about orientation .
Thank you very much

This is good advice.
The answer to the question is nothing needs to be aligned in a certain manner or balanced. Just install.
