Eradispeeds rusting
After I washed my car, just like the stock rotors. I thought these zinc plated wonders weren't supposed to rust, or am I wrong? I am using my stock pads and I just finished seasoning the rotors. Coincidence :confused: Or did I do something wrong?

They'll rub off when you drive them. I wouldn't worry to much. I am storing my fronts in laundry room and with all the mostier there is alot of rust on the pad surface area. It will come off when I drive :)

The only place it should be rusting (and even then not so bad) is where the pad contacts the rotor. Everywhere else on the rotor should be perfect. If not, then you have a problem...

Then again, I don't have Eradispeeds...
So, are they still rusted after driving the car? This is a big piece of information...

They are only rusting where the pads touch the rotor. I haven't driven it yet, but I can tell it will come off when I do. You're right, it isn't a big deal I was just concerned that something was wrong, because I thought they didn't rust at all.
Here's another question; Should I get the rust off right away, or is it OK to let it sit? Sometimes I don't drive it for a week at a time because of weather I always wash it and cover it up when I do, so the rotors will be rusty.

Steal rusts no matter what especially when the pad and heat attacks the surface coating. It would be nice to see a stainless steel unit someday!

I would think that the area touching the pad will be exposed as raw metal howver any other are is zinc washed and should not rust at all....correct?

Mine do the exact same thing, but rust is now collecting in the slots as well, where the pads do NOT touch.. I'm not happy with that!

For those with the Eradispeeds, how are they performance wise? I've heard about them cracking with hard use. I was thinking about purchasing these rotors. Anybody have any probs with them?

The only rotors that does not rust is made from aluminium (only race applications e.g. funny car drag race) or the ceramic rotors from Porsche (I think a set costs 10.000 US$, but will last for 300.000 km !!!
But why ? let them rust for the few seconds the car will not be driven :D

I don't autocross or anything, so I can't comment on their durability. They don't feel any different during normal driving and I never did really test my stock rotors max ability so no comparison there. I really just got them for aesthetic reasons. Technically, they are a few pounds lights and cool down quicker.
Not much help am I? How about this? I can say that during the hard stops of seasoning process, the car stopped QUICK! and very controlled. It sure felt shorter than 125 ft.
