Wheels and calipers are off and the calipers are being painted by Mike. The vette is sitting on blocks with hockey pucks. Thought I would take the time to lower the vette and the front spring adjusting bolts have been soaked with PB Blaster for a week. This car is high and I can see threads under the spring. I put the jack under the spring and lifted the front corner until the front hockey puck came off the block. I can turn the adjusting bolt back and forth a small amount. The bushing is still contacting the A arm. The top off the bushing is turning with the bolt but the bottom of the bushing is not moving where it contacts the A arm. I'm assuming the bottom of the bushing has vulcanized the the metal of the A arm. When I jack up the spring is it lifting the A arm as well? What is the best method to release the grip of the bushing?
If you can get an extra large set of channel locks in from the bottom , you will be able to turn the rubber pad and the adjuster together from the bottom . If you are real careful, you could apply some heat to the top of the adjuster, (house hold propane torch) to loosen things up. Keep at it, you'll get it done. Good luck.
i used a lil wd40 and a paint scraper to "pry it free" - worked perfect
and spray the threads also.
Worked like a charm. Had to give the scraper a little tap or two to break it loose. Thanks Slothy
