Default 97 Corvette FOBS???

Hey guys im new to the site and I already have a question. I bought a 97 Corvette and it came with a switchblade key. The switchblade key has the option for the FOB, but it didnt come with the process board for the FOB. Im now in the process of trying to get another FOB and was wondering what FOBS would work on my 97, other than the FOBS for the 97-99 since they are really expensive. Another question I have is if its possible to put in another process board into my switchblade key? If so what years of Corvette will work? I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions!

I have a '97 and it came with two regular keys and fobs. Did you look in the for sale section?

The 97-99 Fobs are more expensive because they have the passive mode feature which was dropped in 2000.

So will a FOB from any year of C5 work on my 97? Because i dont need the passive entry. Also will any process board from any FOB fit in my switchblade key?
Thanks guys appreciate it!

2000 will work, cost less, but no passive feature. '01-'04 won't work. Don't know about the switchblade.

I've opened up the switchblade and know what the process board should look like. Its the shape of the regular FOBS. Does Anyone have a picture of a process board or know where I can see one?
Thanks Again Guys!

Ok well it appears that the process board will go right in the switchblade. So now im out to find a FOB for a reasonable price. If anyone out there has one or knows someone who has one for sale let me know! Thanks alot for all the info.

you may have trouble with a 97 - 99 board in the switchblade, because the switchblade does not have the passive switch. I guess you could try an 00 board (should still work with the receiver but will not have the passive circuitry) in the switchblade...

The problem you'll have is that it will be trying to work, even though you don't need it, and you will not be able to shut it off because the switch is not there...
