Right now I have a set of 315/30 18 BFG drag radials on my car. When these are done, I would be looking for a tire that doesn't wear too fast, with better traction than nitto's. I don't plan on driving it in the rain, but if i get caught in some, I don't want to be stranded because of the tires

If you are concerned with driving in the rain at all, and having long tread life, you might as well scratch all the drag radials off the list.
I personally consider the Goodyear GS-D3's some of the best all around tires out there for the money. While not specifically a drag radial, they are excellent traction wise and superb in the rain.
Depending on how you drive, you can expect from 10 to 20 thousand miles from them... I've seen both extremes from some of my friends but not one regret.

im not really looking for regular street tire compound because that will do me no good with traction..im heavily considering the 305/40 18 nittos though
