Alright!! I was playing with a friend of mine who just bought WRX.. We were at a light, popped traction control off, light turned green and we hit it, I squealed the tires a little bit when popping the clutch and then switched to 2nd. Well all of the sudden I lost power and while pressing on the gas nothing was happening. I switched gears and nothing. This lasted about 5 seconds and then it was like the Tranny renengaged. I pulled over checked everything out and all looked OK. There was this bad smell like melting plastic or wires and it seemed to be coming from the rear of the car. I got back in and drove for a mile and pulled over again. The car was driving fine but the smell was still there. I drove home and checked codes.. Nothing was registered. So I let the car sit till this morning. Got it in and drove around for a couple of miles and no smell. I talked to my friend and he said that I probably burned the clutch a little and caused it to not engage into the next gear.. Any Thoughts or advice would be appreciated???
You probably cooked the clutch a little. I've smelt it in my C5, but its never stopped me from shifting. I have done the same thing in my POS Corolla, and it did keep me from shifting into 2nd gear.
Have you showered lately? LMAO!!! J/K couldnt resist. Anyway if it smelled like sulfur/rotten eggs most likely it was your clutch. That use to happen to me often with stock clutch.
