Not sure what temperatures you are running, but do remember that LSx engines run on the hot side for several reasons. To ensure you are running at optimum temps do the following:
Check your radiator and condensor for trash.
Check your air-dam.
Change your coolant if it is 5 years old or not DEXCOOL.
......and then depending on your definition of expensive, purchase the fan controller available just about anywhere.
