I have done a few searches on here to see what has to be done to get LS2 coils to work on a LS1. Some say they will work no problems some say they won’t work at all. Has anyone done this? I have a unique situation that I have to go to LS2 coils I believe. Do the LS2 coils have a different bolt pattern then the LS1s? Is the wire harness different? Any info that you can give me would be a big help

The bracket bolt patterns are identical as are the wiring circuits themselves. The only difference between the two is the fact that the LS2 coil design has their individual coil plug-ins on the top of the coil (closest to the intake manifold) and on the LS1 design they are on the "bottom" of the coils (closest to the exhaust manifold).
Making the change is very easy as long as the intermediate wiring harness that is used BETWEEN the large "coil-pack" connector and the individual coils is used.
I am using the LS2/LS7 design coil assemblies on my '99. When I made the change, I used the entire LS2 coil-pack assemblies (brackets, coils and wiring harness assembly) and they bolted right up and work fine with my LS1 PCM system, etc.
BTW, before making the change I researched the wiring circuits themselves in detail and found they are identical; even the same wiring colors.

So.................smaller, lighter, more compact design that leaves more room for "packaging" and combine that with I got a great deal on two complete coil assemblies. Other than that........not much.

Now just to find the coils and I will be set it looks like.
Check "the" auction site. Can't recall the specific seller but he was also selling oxygen sensors. A LOT of oxygen sensors. BTW, he is not a Corvette specific vendor.
