Default 02 Z06 H-pipe????

Would a 02 Z06 H-pipe fit on a 99FRC?
Is there a performance gain if it does?

TIA

If there is a gain (which I doubt), it still wouldn't be worth bothering with...I believe all the C5's have essentially the same H-pipes...

If you are going through the trouble of taking it out you may as well get an after market X pipe. The factory H pipes are a waste!! For all practical purposes there is no balance effect( the actual purpose of an H or X) The main pipes have only a dime sized hole opening into the big 2 1/2" cross pipe. The after market x has a much more effective balance effect. There will still be only a minor affect on power and torque,,but it will smooth out the exhaust sound. As stated all H pipes are basically the same!!

The Z06 H-pipe / cats are different; the cats are responsible for about 5HP of the 405HP in the 02+ Z06 (Source - GM lead engine designer).

The problem for you is the angles on the stock 99 headers do not line up with the 02 angles.

If you are talking about the full piece from exhaust manifold to cat-back flange, no, it will not fit. The exhaust manifolds have a different exit location on 01-04 C5s, including Z06s, from your 99. If you are just talking about the section after the cats containing the H, it will fit, as it is the same as yours. Any exhaust gains on a Z are in the actual exhaust manifold, only one cat per side vs 2 on regular C5s of the same year, and the Ti catback, not in the H-pipe.

So no fit and no gain, IMHO.
