When I pull the key out of the ignition, the easy out feature where the seat goes all the way back doesn't work. The easy out feature is activated, and when I press the memory button, my seat adjusts to it's preset. It just won't retract when the key is pulled. Any ideas??
There's a contact inside the ignition switch that tells the seat when the key is removed. If it's stuck to the "key in" position, pulling the key won't trigger the easy exit function. However, you'll also her the "key in" reminder chime when you open the door. So if you hear the chime with the key pulled, the problems likely in the ignition switch, otherwise, you might need to check some wiring between the ignition switch and the seat controller.
There was an article about this is a recent Corvette Quarterly article. Make sure that you are opening the car via the fob and that it has your presents in memory. If you do not use the fob, the car will not know to put the seat in the way back position.
Anyone correct me it my memory is wrong.
Hope that helps
There were some changes to the easy entry "logic" for 2001, but on all years I didn't think you needed to do anything, to make the seat retract, except take the key out of the ignition- no fob use required.
Fob use IS required to get the memory settings when you INSERT the key, or just tap the appropriate button.
