Default X-pipe questions

What is the difference in performance between and welded together pipe on say Corsa, and a true X-pipe? Links below if needed.

I'll give you a bump,,I'm interested if there is a factual difference! Seems the Corsa would have a little smoother flow pattern with a easy opening to balance the pressure.Initial impression would be the Bassani could be a bit of a turbulence point at the X ,BUT it is wide open and full size opening to both sides. Wonder if anyone has ever dynoed both styles??It would seem the true X would muddle the sound a bit.The Bassani has a good price with shipping included though!!

I honestly doubt there's much difference. I was just reading about these. Our cars come from the factory with an H. It was done this way because it's cheaper to produce to the masses, however it's not efficient. Gasses travel the paths with the least amount of restriction. It's more difficult for the gasses to make a 90 degree turn, and thus the X pipe was introduced to aid in the flow.

I don't think you're going to get a major boost in performance by having either. I'm looking at a set of headers from LG and their set includes the xpipe. They supposedly put their xpipe in a different spot that yielded slightly better results, so I'll be taking my x-pipe off only to buy another one.

I dyno'd at 315rwtq and 310rwhp SAE from just straight pipe cat-back and xpipe system from Borla.
