so it finally happened to me as well.
is there a definitive answer as to who makes the best replacement sensor, and where can it be purchased?

There are a lot of opinions on this one. I used the Buick sensor and did the remote mount. A little pricey fix but if it ever goes out again it's a 5 minute fix.
