Ok all I have a bit of a Unique Situation on my hands. I have a 97 C5 that is currently Being Run with a 98 ECU from an F-body. My problem is this. When I have TCS on and am driving my Car cuts out and Says Reduced Engine Power and the ABS and TCU system comes on and hits the brakes. My car never had this problem before I put new C6 rims on and this ECU (same weekend). I also cannot Dyno the car becuase it will shut off even with the TCS off. However if I am drivng the car with TCS off everything is ok and I can drive it with no problems. It really isnt a big deal to me to hit the TC button everytime i turn the car on. However I would really like to Re-dyno my car soon and I am unable to due to something cutting the power.
You may have more than one problem. Have you run your codes on the DIC yet(turn ignition on push and hold options button while pushing fuel button 4 times)? What size tires did you put on the C6 rims? You have to be very careful of tire diameter when choosing tire sizes. Does your car have the RTD system -- RPO F45?
Report back on the codes you see and the answers to the other questions. You problem could be due to incompatible programming between the F Body PCM and the C5 BCM which have to communicate with each other.
I have ran the codes and No i currently do not have any codes. I did have a code for the steering sensor being 360 off but I have taken care of that and Now I have no Codes at all in any of the DIC's.
As far as I know about the computer they are the EXact same computer just the Ybody has more programs in its software that the Fbody does not use. The pins are still there as well as the hardware just the software is not in there from the factory so it does not use them. The car runs great besides this issue and I have no Hiccups at all besides this. All i did was download the tune from my Ybody to the Fbody computer and it worked 1st try
Once again, as mentioned above, What tire sizes are you using on the new rims? If the new front tires are not smaller by 1/2 in or more than the rears, that can set off the ABS/AH/TC computer and give you your symptoms.
