I swapped out my dash pad yesterday. But in putting it all back together I forgot to plug in the emergency blinker switch. Now I find out this morning I have no turn signals.
I'd really hate to take all apart again just to pull whole dash to get to the emergency blinker button.
I just need to plug it back in.
Can I can access the emergency blinker switch by just taking out the radio ?
Sinister-one,
When I changed my emergency flasher I did not remove the dash pad. I followed the quick fix that is posted somewhere on this forum. If I remember correctly, after you remove the radio, you may be able to snake your hand up behind the flasher, especially if you have small hands.
One word of caution here, The mounting brackets that hold all the crap down there are sharp as knives and will cut you real good if your not careful, so please don't send your wife, or girl friend or small child on this mission.
If you can reach it, then it shouldn't be too difficult to snap the connection back in place, good luck

I think the hard part for you is finding the wire to plug it in. If you can find it you can reach up from the knee bolster. Remove the bolster and the radio surround so you can access everything. You may or may not have to remove the radio but it's not hard.
Good luck
It's not really that bad. Just pop off the console, radio, and HVAC module. Then reach up there and it might take a little while to finagle your hand up in there...might be easier to actually push the switch back out and plug it back in then wiggle the switch back up into it's slot in the dash.
Thanks for all the input guys, but alas... I did have to take it ALL APART AGAIN.
I tried the radio removal first and that was a no go.
So at that point I made the decision to go ahead and dissassemble everything all over again. It really wasn't that bad. It's just time consuming. It took me about 1 1/2 hrs to get it all done.
So just an FYI for you guys that may have to replace your hazard lights switch, be prepared for complete dissassembly !
But, you don't have to remove the dash up top to get to that switch. I've done it and seen it done. It's tough if you don't have a flex mirror and kind of small hands but definitely do-able.
Glad you got her going, mine is acting up so I'll be doing the same thing here real soon...

Thanks DZ.
But there was no way I could have gotten to it from the radio opening. The mounting/housing bracket for the radio didn't allow me any wiggle room.
And for those of you that wonder what your cars look like with no dash pad and dash completely dissassembled..... here ya go.

I agree to a point, but actually what REALLY matters is where the connector is at when ya have this situation. I did the exact same thing but I was able to reconnect it through the radio opening because of where the plug was. However, another time, I had to pull the whole dash back out because I couldn't get to it. That being said though, removing the dash/console isn't a hard job at all once you've done it once. And each additional time, it gets easier and easier
