Anyone have any pictures of where they installed their Raptor shift light? Mine just arrived today and I am looking for advice on where to mount it. Would also appreciate any installation advice on where they tied in the wires into etc.
Besides the great pics in post 1, also read post 20 in that thread for a good tip on isolating the correct white wire. That's how I did it, and it worked great!
Thanks for your help with this. I searched the archives and didn't find much. Question...How bright are the lights on the Raptor at night in that position?

As I pictured it, with the plastic "night shade" cover over the LEDs, it's very visible at night.
Take the cover off, and it's bright enough to notice even with the top off the car in direct sunlight. If you used it like that at night, it would probably illuminate most of the interior when it lit up. Don't let it's little size fool you, it is a very intense and bright cluster of LEDs.
Might be hard to tell from that pic, but it is angled and pointing directly at me when sitting in the seat. Most others I know that use them in the A-pillar flush-mounted them in the little blank area next to one of the gauges. Basically pointed at the same angle, but all you see is the face of it doing it that way.
Since my car kinda has a chrome/yellow theme going on throughout, I decided to order the Raptor in the chrome housing and leave it exposed.
Installed mine in a mount I designed. It is very bright - you will not miss it at night time. I tied in at the footwell fuse panel area where the harness comes in through the firewall.
A lot of the 05+ mustangs are putting them in the ac duct closest to the driver. It is a fairly easy install and VERY stealth if you are going for the sleeper look cause you never see it until it flares up. Would like to due that in the vette but logistically dont think that will be possible.
The post of tapping into the wire under the instrument pannel looked good but isn't working for me...
For lack of better words I am having a heck of a problem figuring out where to tie in the tack pulse wire. I don't know how this can be done unless you are tripple fingered and double jointed with an enimic problem and have the ability to cut a wire somewhere that you can feel but not see. Has anyone else done this? I could use some advice.

Well it wasnt easy, and I did cut a wire in error and have to solder it back. There are 2 wire bundles, one is closer to the left , underneath the foglight / hatch release switch area.
Did you remove the knee bolster? That should give good access. You can also access that same wiring bundle a few inches forward without removing the bolster, and the wires aren't covered. It's where the bundle joins a larger bundle.

Got it done. Damn it looks great.
I had one heck of a time getting to that bundle. Had to remove the stuff LPE tied in there. The wire bundle didn't have to seem the same play in the wires that were in the pictures.
Ended up going to Auto Zone and buying a soldering gun with a long pointed nose on it. Used a razor blade to scrape the insulation off of the wire then soldered it.
Once I got that done everything else was easy.
Thanks everyone for your help. Now that I am done I feel a sense of accomplishment....Damn it looks good...It also works to boot.
Looks good! Same line lock I have also.
Did you get the dual shift light with the launch rpm too?
I just got the single shift light. I was expecting the install of the line lock to be the difficult part with the shift light being the easy task.
I was surprised how easy the line lock was to install but had one heck of a time with getting to the tack out wire on the shift light but it all worked out great in the end.
I've read a lot of posts on the Raptor install and I didn't see anyone ask about pulling the lower panel off to get to the wires. I removed the 2 screws from the base of it and started pulling. I can see there are some hidden push pins but are there any hidden screws that have to come out before I break something? I didn't want to start pulling too hard and snap something.
