Does anyone know what the normal operating temperature is for a 2000 C5?? I changed the thermostat but it seems to run a bit hot in traffic....Thanks.

Normal operating temperature is 192.7 degrees. Now that you've read it on the web, it's got to be true. Some where between 190 and 210 and you're probably fine.

You need to define " a bit hot" 230 degrees in the summer, with a/c on and 90 degrees outside temp is normal in stop and go traffic.. 200-210 degrees in winter..

The best way to take advantage of a thermostat is to get a lower temp and have the fans ON/OFF temps changed to a lower setting - therefore getting lower running temps

You can do this either by a Handheld tuner or having a Shop do the adjustments - it is worth it

Thanks,Matt

Open road: 190 to 196

In traffic: 226 to 230 before the fans kick in.
