Default C6 Z06 leaf spring, T1 or Hyperco

Hello all,

I am on a budget so I would like to remain in the normal man's price range. I have the T1 sway bars and metal end links, and 04 Sachs shocks, my leaf springs are original 01 Z06 springs, I am looking at doing a mod to refresh the suspension. Has anyone used the C6Z06 leaf spring on their C5 yet, and of so, what was your impression. I do autocross from time to time and will be adding a Maggie blower next month.

Thanks,
Californiakid

Front springs might interchange between C5 and C6. C6 and C5 rear springs are mounted completely different.

I would go with the HyperCo Street springs, these are the same springs that we use on a number of customers HPDE cars, as well as supply to the Bondurant school cars.

Ho JoeAHZP,

I did a search in the forum (C5) and all I found was debates over shocks and sway bars. The leaf spring string I used was (C6 Z06 leaf springs and leaf springs (way too many hits)). So I am not taking it as a ding against me because someone thought I did not do some research first, when in fact I did. I do search a lot and that is the reason my posts are low, I am able to find info most of the time.
Thanks.

@ Anthony,

From what I read about the Hyperco's, these seem like the most likely avenue for me. How would you rate the T1 leafs against the Hyperco in firmness and what is the height variation of the Hyperco's?
Thanks in advance.

You are going to have a much larger range of height adjustment with the HyperCo springs over the T1 units. The T1's from what I have seen have the same range as the OE units and still use the same height adjuster. The Hyper Co is going to give you a much better pad on the adjuster for more positive feed back from the control arm.

The Hyper Co street spring (I believe) is stiffer than OE Z51 but less than that of the T1 units. The T1's are just a bit much for most cars and I feel you will have a better ride and handling both from the street spring for a dual purpose car.
