True, but it doesn't sound like he's looking to trade it anytime soon.

I probably would see if these guys are in your area:
http://www.marsinternational.com/
From what I have seen, they are really specialists at this type of repair. They are mobile and have their own trucks (rolling workshops), and come to you. Or find out when they will be in your area at a local dealership - some dealerships allow them to work in their "down" time.

Good luck,
Plasticman

sorry man!! but if you want it completely gone , you need more than clear coat it, you have to spray color on top of the burn mark and then clear coat it,, you have to leave as it it now, or do it the right way, cause a little touch up wont look good!

Which is why a decal would be good at this point..

Default hmmmm stripe idea...like it

wow....sorta funny.....I been thinking so hard on what I can do....and this eluded my brain....the decal trick....hmmmm unreal lol

Whats even more funny is that I just bought new hood stripes for the front of my car and if I continue the theme to the back it will completely cover up my lil mishap! Swwwwwwweeeeet. You know me, had to create some comps to see what it might look like. I am really liking my ideas!

I guess sometimes we all need a lil boost to get our minds thinking.

Thanks guys and gals!

oh cause I know people are saying....what you thinking of doing? Show some pics!

Ok here's some really quick, rough, down & dirty eye candy.

To keep this from being a thread-hi jack and keep it on course....to the OP...I would recommend a similar treatment....I know with you it's in a much more difficult position, but none-the-less there are stripe kits out there that cover up that area of the door. I would recommend visiting www.vettestripes.com

Some excellent examples on there, plus Iam pretty sure they can even do customized stuff too...might just be the ticket you need!
Here is a good example:
